Where Are You?

I had just moved back from San Antonio after a breakup and was trying to connect with other queer latines.

 
 

 

 

Why Are You There?

I saw a post on Facebook about United Latin Pride and so I drove myself alone to this event where I knew no one.

What Happened in This Moment?

I entered feeling nervous and disconnected. But as the alcohol started to settle I started to network and interact with people. By the end, I had connected with the core organizers and was suddenly looped in to their activities

What Changed for you because of this moment?

I stopped feeling so disconnected. I felt relieved, I hadn’t ruined my chances of Chicago feeling like home. This moment started my community advocacy and organizing in the queer Latine community. I felt less alone in my queerness
