I was on the platform of the Fly Honey Show sharing a personal story of finding love, losing love, and finding it again but in a different way. And I felt both seen and held by the audience — as if they understood the inner workings of my life.
Because storytelling is such an under appreciated art form, and to have the space to express and share vulnerability feels rare and special
It started with a submission to share my story
It went down in front of a crowd of people as I walked strangers through my lowest and highest moments.
It ended with roars of applause and whistles that made me feel the physical presence of community
It cemented that storytelling was my contribution to the world. In whatever medium that may be
Because “community” is a term so casually thrown around. But it’s hardly ever FELT. This was one of those moments I felt it.
